{"id":914,"date":"2019-10-04T05:44:51","date_gmt":"2019-10-04T05:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/localhost\/mithra-advisors\/?page_id=914"},"modified":"2025-09-01T11:35:18","modified_gmt":"2025-09-01T11:35:18","slug":"immigration","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/mithra-inst.org\/index.php\/immigration\/","title":{"rendered":"Immigration"},"content":{"rendered":"\n\n\t<p><strong>&#8220;Is a Global Village compatible with Nations ?&#8221;<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The free flow of information and people has marked the great wave of globalization from the late 20th century which culminated with Germany accepting a million refugees from Syria and other poor countries in 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Since then, immigration has become a main theme contributing to the various national politics in a very polarized fashion as evidenced by the Brexit referendum, the rise of nationalist parties and the election of President Trump (&#8220;Build the Wall&#8221;).<\/p>\n<p>It is a very divisive topic where people disagree on the merits of immigration whether on economic ground or on humanitarian ground. Some even consider it to be a solution for collapsing Demographics regardless of which population comes to replace the ageing natives.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Immigration goes beyond ideologies as it has far-reaching implications on the recipient countries&#8217; healthcare, education, labor markets, demographics and ultimately national policy-making.
