For most of the 20th century, Education provided an affordable ladder to higher standards of living as well as the social platform by which the different layers of the community could mix. Education was and still is strategic to the long-term prospects of a Nation in forming its future generation of researchers, leaders and government elites.

Education in the 21st century is very different since it has become one the biggest expenses of a household along with Housing and Healthcare while the economic prospects for the graduates have deteriorated significantly.

Is an MBA enough to feed a family ?

Moreover the globalization of the economy has set up a class of wealthy parents in search of a higher education for their children and Education became a global business for a large number of universities competing against each other pushing prices to unaffordable levels.

The evolution of Education raises a major debate about its social and economic function on the national and the global stages.

In this section, we investigate the various dimensions of this eco-system and we contemplate its future evolution in the context of the recent geopolitical protectionism.
